This seems complicated. How does it all work?
We believe an educated consumer is the best consumer and a SolGen team member will explain!

Here is a quick overview of how solar systems work. How Solar Works Video

  • SolGen installs a high quality photo-voltaic solar system on your home.

  • Your system is made of crystalline cells which absorb and convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity.

  • The panels mounted on your roof are then wired to an inverter.

  • This inverter changes the (DC) current to alternating current (AC) through the electrical panel, which is what is used to power your home.

  • The meter measures the energy you use, and feeds excess to the grid

  • If you generate more energy to the grid than you consume, your utility company will issue you a credit, further decreasing your electric bill.
